About Kell

My name is Kell, and at the beginning of 2015, I was the heaviest I had ever been, and that includes the weights I reached while pregnant with both my sons.

At this point, my son’s were aged 6 years and 14 months, and not only had I not lost the weight from my most recent pregnancy, I was still carrying weight from my first one, and then put on more. I was horrified that I weighed in at 17 stones 7lbs.

I was heading down a dangerous and depressing road to being fat and unhealthy forever.

So I decided to do something about it.

I started eating more healthily and being a bit more active. I logged my meals by counting calories, and I joined a gym.

I shed 20lbs doing it this way, all by myself, but then the weight loss stalled a bit, and I found it just wasn’t coming off any more like it once had.

Something had to change.

My sister had joined Slimming World at the beginning of the year, and she was losing weight every week, looking and feeling better all the time, and she banged on all the time about how easy the plan was to follow. I didn’t believe her… until I joined a class too, and realised she was telling the truth!

This is the simplest plan I have ever found to follow and it’s really working for me. This is the diary of my journey from fat and unhealthy to fit and energetic. It’s the road to a reinvented me.

14.03.15 c<<< This is the picture that made me realise I needed help. I’m an actor and singer, and this is one of the photos taken by the photographer at an event at which I performed. I had already lost a stone and a half (21lbs), and knew I had a long way to go, but this picture really made it hit home. If I was ever going to get where I wanted to be, I needed some support to help me get there.

That’s where the Slimming World classes come in. I intend to stay to the class session after weigh in every week if possible, and hopefully that will give me new tips and ideas as well as a solid support circle.

I was a healthy weight for my height (11 stones) and, although I didn’t think so at the time, I looked great! This is my target weight. I know that after having two children, my body isn’t the same as it was then, but even if I won’t be the same shape, I can get to this weight and work on my shape too. It will take a lot of hard work, but I know I can do this!

I hope you’ll enjoy this adventure, and maybe you’ll join me, or give me some tips along the way to help me get where I want to be. After all, the more support we all have, the more chance we have of succeeding. And I fully intend to succeed!

    I too was a lot (3st) lighter when I married but wasn’t entirely happy with weight at the time! 😯😣😏
    I don’t have the justification of kids – not that you’re using that as justification! 😯☺️ – we’re VERY happily childless just VERY loved up and enjoy are wine & cheese chill evenings together β˜ΊοΈπŸ·πŸ’ – finding balance is so hard 😣 I’ve tried lots of methods but keep coming back to SW – just seems to be the most balanced/healthy eating promoting programme out there πŸ‘πŸ» looking forward to following your journey 😘xx
